Monthly Meetings

The Somerville Bicycle Advisory Committee meets monthly, typically on the first Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Currently all meetings are held virtually, and meeting link will be posted on https://www.somervillema.gov/events two days in advance.  Meetings are open to the public, and volunteers and help are always welcome!  There are also Team meetings- see our newsletter for details (sign up for our newsletter in the Welcome Section)

Become a Member

The SBAC always welcomes guests to attend meetings and volunteer.  We seek to recruit additional members.  If you would like to become an official voting member of the SBAC, please follow these guidelines:
  • Attend at least six months of meetings.
  • Actively participate and meaningfully contribute to the SBAC mission through events, planning, or research.
  • Declare interest in becoming a member.
  • The SBAC allots time at a meeting to interview the applicant and vote on endorsing the candidate for membership. This endorsement is conveyed to the Mayor.
  • Write a letter to the Mayor expressing interest (including resume and relevant experience).
  • The Mayor approves or denies the membership request and recommends the nominee to be approved by the Board of Aldermen.
  • City Council votes to approve or deny the nominee.
  • Arrange with the City Clerk to be sworn in.
